Illustration is often overlooked as a medium for children’s books and cartoons and, in spite of that, it has the capacity to engage with complex topics and real-world problems in ways that are empathetic, surprising, and nuanced. To prove this theory, we will engage with the world and its social issues through visual art.

We will explore the capacity of illustration and sequential art (comics) to raise awareness on social issues, to engage with the stories of individuals who are affected by social issues, and to visualize the utopian worlds that we want to manifest, in which those issues are solved. 

In this studio, we will each pick a social issue that is particularly meaningful and important to us as individuals. We will continue to research and make art about that social issue throughout the class. We will focus on the relationship between images and words, beginning by imagining a large-scale mural with both an image and a slogan that would educate about "our" social issue. Then we will move forward to create an in-depth comic that visualizes both a story about a character being affected by the issue in the present day, and a future in which the problem is resolved.

The first two comics talk about an addicted human's life, and the second shows how the world will be without drugs. The second slide talks about "The way of stopping drugs abuse or any kind of addiction

The sea will recover

أن المساواة بين الجنسين تعني أن "الرجال والنساء الأولاد والبنات يتمتعوا بنفس الحقوق والموارد والفرص والحماية. أنها لا تطلب ان يكون الرجال والنساء، الأولاد والاطفال متشابهين أو ان يتم معاملتهم بالمثل" 

المساواة بين الجنسين تعني أن السلوكيات المختلفة والتطلعات وأحتياجات المرأة والرجل يجب أن تؤخذ في الاعتبار ويتم تقييمها وتفضيلها بمنتهى المساواة. هذا لا يعني أن الرجل والمرأة يجب ان يكونوا متشابهين ولكن حقوقهم ومسؤولياتهم وفرصهم لا تعتمد على نوع جنسهم. المساواة بين الجنسين تعني الانصاف في المعاملة بين الرجل والمراة طبقًا لأحتياجتهم الخاصة. هذا من الممكن أن يتضمن المساواة في المعاملة او المعاملة المختلفة ولكن الأهتمام بالمساواة في الحقوق والمنافع والواجبات والفرص.»

Gender equality means that different behaviours, aspirations and needs of women and men must be taken into account, assessed and favoured with the utmost equality. This does not mean that men and women should be the same, but their rights, responsibilities and opportunities do not depend on their gender. Gender equality means equitable treatment between men and women according to their own needs. This can include equal treatment or different treatment but an interest in equal rights, benefits, duties and opportunities."

 Gender equality means that "men and women, boys and girls, have the same rights, resources, opportunities and protection. They don't ask men and women, boys and children to be the same or be treated the same."
