This studio focuses on the concept of community development through strategic interventions. Students will learn how to take initiative and design and implement their project, using a combination of analytical and technical skills. The studio will begin with surveying and thoroughly understanding a selected community through visits, interviews, and surveys. The findings will then be compiled and used to propose an initiative that is responding to challenges faced by the inhabitants or to propose methods to enhance the quality of life for the community in questions. The collective analysis will allow students to learn from each other's research and use it to fuel their proposed interventions. Projects will range from action plans and urban strategies to public installations.
