Activity Prompt
In this activity, students will investigate the factors that make a desk successful or unsuccessful in performing its function. Students will begin by looking at examples of good and bad desks, noting features that affect comfort, functionality, durability, cost, ease of construction, and safety. Afterwards, they will observe and evaluate the desks currently around them in reality. As a group, students will compile their findings to create a shared list of good and bad desk characteristics, which will later support brainstorming and design decision-making.
