HydroPower
Hydropower is a renewable energy system that uses moving water and gravity to produce electricity. Water is stored in a river or reservoir at a higher level, where it has potential energy. When the gates open, the water flows downward due to gravity and gains speed. As the water flows, it spins a turbine. The turbine is connected to a generator, and when it spins, mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy. This electricity is then sent through a transformer, which adjusts the voltage so it can be safely and efficiently transported. After turning the turbine, the water exits through a channel called a tailrace and flows back into the river. The water is not used up or wasted; only its energy is taken. This makes hydropower clean, efficient, and sustainable. Because it provides stable power day and night, hydropower is especially suitable for systems like train stations and electric trains.
