Kawakib Pavilion
Project Description:
This project offers a stargazing sanctuary on a mountain, minimizing light pollution for optimal sky views. Featuring telescopes, nature integration, and Syrian symbolic architecture inspired by Lalibela Churches, it blends spiritual depth with natural beauty to create a peaceful, immersive, and culturally rooted experience.
In this design, our aim is to create a space that enhances the experience of stargazing by eliminating light pollution around the area. At night, the lights are dimmed, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the night sky. Telescopes are placed in every corner, so guests can observe the stars up close.
The open and cool space is surrounded by trees and plants, offering an immersive experience in nature. This relaxation area is situated on a mountain, providing a peaceful environment enhanced by the warm climate.
We plan to incorporate the eight-pointed star, a symbol of great significance in Syria, into the architecture as a key element. Additionally, we drew inspiration from the design of the Lalibela Churches, whose timeless aesthetics aim to create a profound spiritual connection.
