Project Description:

I designed a modern, elevated, open pavilion found along a boardwalk near the water. I used styrofoam, string, and blocks to construct my final prototype.

Project Inspiration:

Iroquois Longhouses

• Built from wood
• fire pit in the middle
• community centers
• protection from weather

Cherokee, Choctaw, and Seminole Chickees

• On stilts to protect from flooding
• No walls, increased air circulation
• Hot environments
• Simple shelter
• Blends into the environment
