Project Description:

My sustainable home or space is an open floor plan which cultivates a communal space for optimizing social life. While also featuring rooms for multipurpose use such as sleeping, dining, and playing games. The home also has limited closed off places to ensure natural light is transmitted into the house. The greenery in front of the home and small balcony contributes to its excellent external appeal, making it a great space for hosting guests. Lastly, my architectural style was developed based off of the Chinookan homes. 



Project Inspiration:

My project is inspired by the Chinookan people of the Lower Columbia River who built plank houses which are large rectangular communal homes. Their homes gravitated my attention because the style of the home offers a communal space for people to convene.
