Kinetic Art Sculpture
Studio Brief
Discover the art of kinetic sculpture in our studio, inspired by Alexander Calder. This studio guides students to create kinetic sculptures, starting with an poster using gestalt principles to create visual unity. Transitioning to 3D forms, students explore balance and motion.
Participants will master modern design tools and enhance practical skills in project documentation, from initial design to final construction and installation, ensuring their sculptures are aesthetically pleasing and mechanically sound.
Final Project Expectations
Explore the dynamics of balance and movement in three-dimensional art forms, learning how to conceptualize and construct sculptures that are both aesthetically pleasing and mechanically sound.
Master the use of modern design tools, including CAD software and laser cutting, to translate two-dimensional ideas into physical artworks using the different material.
Develop a foundational understanding of gestalt principles in design to effectively create visual unity in kinetic sculptures.
