Teenagers have been foundational to the transformative activism that has occured in the Arab World, in this studio we will focus on Syria and the impact and voice a young person can have on the voice of the people through devices for good. There are "imperfect" agencies that profoundly impact refugee populations in the Middle East. In many cases the aid distributed doesn’t fully reflect the needs and interests of the lives of Syrians in host countries like Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. Today there are 5.6 million Syrians scattered throughout the region, making them the world's largest refugee population under the United Nations' mandate. It's the worst exodus since the Rwandan genocide 24 years ago. In this studio, we’ll design and fabricate interactive devices that empower students in a radical engagement by participating with others, places, and challenges through and with their communities.

Students will research urban and social phenomena and speak with experts at the intersection of politics, social science, data science, society, civics, city development, and most importantly understand their own experiences to create something that will aid in the understanding of Syrians living in bordering countries. They will weave real issues into devices that will impact them in a genuine and necessary way.

In this studio, students will use the power of digital design (computer-aided drafting, 3D modeling) rapid prototyping tools (laser cutters, 3D printers), and microprocessor electronics to create interactive devices and installations.Get ready to design the next generation of products for people to re-shape their city through story-telling, participate in civic life, and engage in human centered dialogue and action!

المراهقون كانوا سباقين في النشاط التحويلي الذي حدث في العالم العربي، سنركز في هذا الأستوديو على سوريا والتأثير والصوت الذي يمكن أن يحدثه الشاب على صوت الناس من خلال أجهزة للخير. هناك وكالات "ناقصة" تؤثر تأثيرا عميقا على اللاجئين في الشرق الأوسط.وفي كثير من الحالات، لا تعكس المساعدات الموزعة بشكل كامل إحتياجات ومصالح حياة السوريين في تركيا. واليوم هناك ٥.٦ مليون سوري منتشرين في جميع أنحاء المنطقة، مما يجعلهم أكبر عدد من اللاجئين في العالم تحت إشراف الأمم المتحدة.إنها أسوأ هجرة منذ الإبادة الرواندية قبل ٢٤ عاما. 

في هذا الاستوديو، سنقوم بتصميم وتصنيع أجهزة تفاعلية تمكن الطلاب من المشاركة بشكل جذري من خلال المشاركة مع الآخرين والأماكن والتحديات من خلال مجتمعاتهم وبالتعاون معها.
سيبحث الطلاب في الظواهر الحضرية والاجتماعية ويتحدثون مع الخبراء عند تقاطع السياسة، والعلوم الاجتماعية، وعلم البيانات، والمجتمع،والتربية المدنية، وتنمية المدن، والأهم من ذلك فهم تجاربهم الخاصة لخلق شيء يساعد في فهم السوريين الذين يعيشون في البلدان المجاورة.وسوف تنسج القضايا الحقيقية في أجهزة من شأنها أن تؤثر عليها بشكل حقيقي وضروري.

في هذا الاستوديو، سيستخدم الطلاب قوة التصميم الرقمي (بمساعدة الحاسوب الصياغة، النماذج الثلاثية الأبعاد) أدوات الكتابة السريعة(أدوات قطع الليزر، طابعات ثلاثية الأبعاد)، وإلكترونيات المعالجات الدقيقة لإنشاء أجهزة وتجهيزات تفاعلية. استعدوا لتصميم الجيل التالي من المنتجات للناس لإعادة تشكيل مدينتهم من خلال رواية القصص، والمشاركة في الحياة المدنية،والمشاركة في الحوار والعمل المتمحورين حول الإنسان.
