PATTERNS
ELHAM DWEDERI
In this studio, we explored different cultures by designing symbols that represent each society's identity. We studied their customs and traditions, created artwork inspired by them, and printed these symbols on clothing to blend art with heritage in an innovative way.
My project is about Turkish civilization. I used the most important elements that are famous in Turkey, such as the Galata Tower, tea glass, simit bread, the Black Sea, and its provinces. The reason I used the color red is because of its significance in Turkey; it is the color of the Turkish flag and represents the blood of martyrs in Turkey at the same time.
